Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Wrap Up Dual Meet with Princeton

Final Results
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's swimming & diving team hosted Princeton for the 11th consecutive year at FAU Aquatic Center on Friday afternoon. The women captured five top finishes, seven second place titles and three third place times. On the men's side, the team claimed three first place, three second place and seven third place finishes. It was a thrilling afternoon, including a first-place finish for Will Smith in the 1000 free by 0.01 seconds, a new school record by Alicia Mora in the 1-meter, as well as a new FAU freshman record by Rateb Hussein in the 100 fly.
Women: 165.5 – 134.5 (Princeton)
Men: 204.5 – 95.5 (Princeton)

Quick Hits – Women
- The women's team commenced the afternoon with second in the 200 medley relay. Abby Marshall, Fatimah Westbrook, Grace Molinaro and Mackenzie Brown finished with a time of 1:34.50
- Spence Atkins tallied two individual titles on the day starting in the 1000 free (10:21.78). She would later tally first in the 500 free (5:06.47) and third in the 200 fly (2:04.44)
- Sarah Martin claimed two second-place finishes on the day with one in the 200 free (1:54.36) and the other in the 100 free
- Marshall, the reigning Conference USA Swimmer of the Week, experienced a repeat from last weekend, as she claimed two first place titles in the 100 back (56.23) and 200 back (2:03.70)
- Westbrook captured first in the 100 breast (1:04.48) for the second straight week
- In the 50 free, Brown and Westbrook finished second and third, respectively
- Haley O'Meara captured second in the 200 breast (2:24.01)
- Behind Atkins' first place finish in the 500 free, Kirsten Hobson took second (5:08.11)
- In the 400 IM, Danica Garbett claimed third (4:34.97)
- To cap off the swimming events, the 200 free relay team of Marshall, Brown, Martin and Westbrook finished second (1:35.69)
- The women's team dominated on both boards Friday. Starting things off in the 3-meter, Malvina Catalano (296.10), Mora (285.90), Taylor Downs (244.50) and Karissa Ganzer took the top-4 spots in the standings, including Catalano's second consecutive first place title in the 3-meter
- On the 1-meter, Mora (300.00) and Catalano (293.93) finished first and second, respectively. Not only did Mora's score mark another new personal best, but she captured the new FAU school and Freshman record
- Mora and Catalano captured new personal bests on both boards
Quick Hits – Men
- The men got things rolling in the 200 medley relay (1:34.50) with second place behind Kyle Douglas, Quinn Lacoursiere, Hussein and Reilly Maguire
- In the most exciting race of the day, Smith finished first in the 1000 free (9:25.37) by 0.01 seconds. Jack Shapiro finished third (9:40.17)
- Douglas captured second in the 100 back (51.61) and was followed by Alex Taber in third (51.59)
- In the 100 breast, LaCoursiere took third in the 100 breast (59.53)
- Hussein had another successful night, capturing first in the 100 fly (49.23) and second in the 200 fly (1:49.81). His time in the 100 fly tied the FAU freshman record
- Connor Smoak tallied two third place titles with the first in the 50 free (21.37) and the second in the 100 free (46.88) on his birthday
- Braedan Leach took third in the 200 back (1:53.00)
- In another close distance race, Josh Fountain recorded first in the 500 free (4:34.84)
- The men capped off the day of races with third in the 200 free relay (1:25.21) behind Hussein, Skyler Hamilton, Andrew Garcia and Smoak
- Logan Downey swept on both boards. The reigning CCSA Diver of the Week scored 308.92 in the 1-meter to qualify for NCAA Zones and 257.47 in the 3-meter. Charlie Greene finished third in the 1-meter (193.42)
