BOCA RATON, Fla. –
Natalliah Whyte of the Florida Atlantic University track and field team has been named the Conference USA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
"We are excited for Natalliah receiving this honor from the conference," said Associate Head Coach
Willie Randolph. "We are looking forward to many more prestigious honors as the season progresses."
In the first week of the season, Whyte took first place in the 60-meter dash at the UAB Blazer Invite. She ran a school-record time of 7.36 in the preliminary round and followed that up with a time of 7.38 to take first. Her 7.36 time is tied for eighth in the country currently and is atop C-USA.
During the preseason, Whyte was projected as an All-American and ranked third in the 60-meter event by FloTrack.com.
The FAU track and field team will be back in action on Jan. 18 and 19 at the Gamecock Inaugural Indoor Invite hosted by South Carolina.
