CHICAGO, Ill. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team won their second tournament in a row with a sweep of DePaul (25-19, 25-17, 25-19) at the DePaul Invitational on Saturday. The Owls are now 6-3 on the season.

Key Plays
FAU built an early 7-3 lead before the Blue Demons rallied to tie the score at 8-8. The two teams battled back and forth for much of the frame and the score was tied for at 19 when the Owls scored the final six points to take the set. Alex Cardona's serving was the catalyst for a 9-3 FAU lead in set number two and FAU was able to maintain control the rest of the way to take a 2-0 advantage. The roles were reversed in the third set, with DePaul getting out to a 6-2 edge. However, the Owls used an 11-3 run to pull ahead, 13-9. The Blue Demons got the margin down to two at 17-15, but couldn't get any closer and an Ivone Martinez service ace completed the FAU sweep.

Notables

Sigourney Kame posted 12 kills to lead all players.
Massiel Matos tallied nine kills and eight digs.
Alex Cardona notched a match-high 17 digs.
Sydney Nemtuda contributed five kills, 11 digs, a block and a service ace.
Ivone Martinez had 30 of FAU's 36 assists in the match.
Matos was named Tournament MVP, with Kame and Abbi Reid also making the all-tournament team.
The win was FAU's sixth in a row. It is the fourth year in a row that the Owls have recorded at least a five-match winning streak.
