BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (2-2-0, 1-0-0 C-USA) once again brought the drama on Friday night at FAU Soccer Stadium, defeating South Carolina (1-3-0, 0-1-0 C-USA), 1-0, in overtime on a golden goal from Alex Alexis.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
Despite the two teams remaining scoreless through regulation, the pace of the match was quick featuring 25 shots between the two teams.
Heading into overtime, the Owls wasted no time. Three minutes in, Alonso Coello Camarrero volleyed the ball to Alex Alexis. Alexis got the ball past his defender and sent it sailing past the keeper for the win.
