Football Prepares to Open 2018 Defense of C-USA Title

With defense of their 2017 Conference USA Championship days away, the Florida Atlantic University football team put in a full day of what one player called the best practice to date, on Wednesday.

The game is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. eastern at Middle Tennessee will be produced by STADIUM and will be exclusive to Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/LiveCUSAFootball/videos/576282526135940. The Owls were a perfect 8-0 in C-USA last season and will put that streak on the line Saturday.

Senior Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair is one of 30 nationally as a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award.

Thirty NCAA® Football Bowl Subdivision student-athletes who excel both on and off the field were selected today as candidates for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award® in collegiate football. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I FBS senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

Head Coach Lane Kiffin as well as a selected assistant coach and a player will join ESPN West Palm 106.3's Ken LaVicka from 6-7 p.m. this Thursday. The show will air live on ESPN West Palm 106.3 and on the ESPN App, during the same 6-7 p.m. slot.

For the third consecutive year, FAU's Frank Forte will host the weekly show "Inside the Owls Burrow." The show will be broadcasted on Fox Sports Florida each Thursday at 4 p.m. This episode will re-air for a second time at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. This week's show features: Coach Kiffin's recap of the UCF game as well as a preview the Middle Tennessee matchup, safety/nickel James Pierre will be featured, receiver Willie Wright will be the focus of "Pads Off," and for the first time quarterback Chris Robison will sit down for a chat.
