Owls Score Three Goals in Takedown of ASA Miami

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (2-3-0, 1-0-0 C-USA) put on an offensive clinic against ASA Miami in exhibition play at the FAU Soccer Stadium on Tuesday night, netting three goals and registering 24 shots.

HOW IT WAS DECIDED
- The Owls dominated possession early and it paid off in the 16th minute when Alonso Coello Camarerro found a streaking Gonzalo Pena Barrasus. Pena dribbled past a defender and sailed the ball past the Silver Storm keeper.
- ASA Miami quickly evened the score with a goal of their own in the 19th.
- Just before halftime, FAU was awarded a corner kick. Alonso Coello Camarerro took the kick for the Owls and lobbed the ball into a group of players. Adam O'Sullivan got his head on the ball and found the back of the net with six seconds left in the half.
- In the 76th minute, Alberto Escobedo connected on a penalty kick and gave FAU its final goal of the night.
GAME NOTES
- FAU outshot ASA Miami, 24-6, in the match while putting 10 of those shots on frame.
- The Owls also had 14 corner kicks in the match compared to ASA Miami's three.
- Although the goals will not count towards the season total, Alberto Escobedo and Adam O'Sullivan each recorded their first score of the season and it was Gonzalo Pena Barrasus' second.
- FAU's assist-leader Alonso Coello Camarerro was a helper on both of the Owls' non-penalty goals.
- Hagay Jalon made three saves on the night, playing all 90 minutes in the net for the Owls.
- Eleven different Owls recorded a shot in the match. Jean Paul Rafols paced FAU with four while Adam O'Sullivan, Alvaro Rodriguez, Alex Alexis and Gonzalo Pena Barrasus each had three.
