BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (2-4-0, 1-1-0 C-USA) dropped a 2-0 decision to Conference USA foe New Mexico (3-5-0, 1-1-0) on Saturday night at FAU Soccer Stadium.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
The Owls had chances early, but were unable to convert.
New Mexico took the lead in the 10th minute and went ahead by two in the 24th minute.
At the half, the Lobo's only two shots on goal were its two scores and the Owls were outshooting New Mexico, 7-6.
Hagay Jalon made his first save of the game in the second half, jumping to punch away a ball that was rocketed just below the crossbar.
Despite giving up two goals in the first half, FAU's defense stood strong in the second half holding the Lobos scoreless while weathering six shots and four on goal.

Mateo Pieschacon came into the game for the Owls and put two shots on frame in valuable minutes.
Hagay Jalon made four saves in the match, playing in all 90 minutes.
Seven different FAU players registered shots in the match.
Tonight's loss was the first home loss of the season for the Owls who started off the year winning their first three games in FAU Soccer Stadium.
