BILOXI, Miss. - A batch of inclement weather all throughout the first day of the 2018 Conference USA Championship affected not only Florida Atlantic University baseball's opening game, but has filtered into days two and three.
In fact, the Owls' win over FIU on Wednesday was the only game of four scheduled on the tournament's opening day to wrap up completely (despite over three hours of delays). Game two between Louisiana Tech and Rice, the winner of which will be FAU's next opponent, was delayed several times before being halted in the top of the seventh with Rice leading 6-1.
Because that game still needs to be completed, and games three and four from Wednesday have been pushed back to Thursday, FAU will not play until Friday morning at 9 a.m. Central (10 a.m. Eastern).
Note: This update is posted on Thursday morning, and of course could change between now and the time FAU is as of now scheduled to play next. Check back on Twitter, at @FAU_Baseball and @FAUAthletics, should anything change in the meantime.
