Football Continues to Work Towards Complete Game Effort

Florida Atlantic University's football team (4-5, 2-3 Conference USA) acknowledges that last week's preparation may have been the best of 2018 and that it paid dividends with a 49-14, complete-game winning effort in Shula Bowl XVII. This Saturday, FAU will play host to WKU (1-8, 0-5 C-USA), in a scheduled 5 p.m. start and will strive for that same complete game effort. The goal is to continue the momentum for the 2018 seniors.

This week's game will serve as the university's Homecoming with events scheduled throughout the week. Football will welcome back their alumni and will have a special tribute to the 2008 team that captured the Motor City Bowl.

Game Preview

The Series
The Florida Atlantic versus WKU series began in 2008. The two universities competed as members of the Sun Belt Conference before both making the move to Conference USA. The games promise to be nailbiters or lopsided. Five games have been decided by less than double digits. The remaining four by an average of 22.25 points. The last two games were a 52-3 FAU loss in 2016 and a 42-28 FAU win in 2017.

For the third consecutive year, FAU's Frank Forte hosts the weekly show "Inside the Owls Burrow." The show is broadcasted on Fox Sports Sun, will first air at 4 p.m. Thursday, and be shown a second time at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Fox Sports Florida. This week's show features Head Coach Lane Kiffin's recap of Shula Bowl XVII versus FIU as well as a look forward to this Saturday's game versus WKU. Graduate student and center Junior Diaz and his family will be the featured player this week's "Pads Off." This week's show also features Jaron Fairman, FAU's special teams coordinator, and cornerback Chris Tooley.
