Men’s Basketball Preps For Islands of the Bahamas Showcase

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team heads to the Bahamas for this weekend's Islands of the Bahamas Showcase. FAU will begin action on Friday against Georgia Southern at 5 p.m. A win in Friday's game would give the Owls their first 3-0 start in program history.

All three games will be streamed at TheBahamasShowcase.com and live stats will be provided throughout the weekend. Live audio of all three games will be available on ESPN 106.3. There will be updates on all the weekend's activities on the team's official Twitter and Instagram accounts (@FAU_Hoops).

LAST TIME OUT

The Owls rallied from a 20-point first half deficit to defeat UCF 80-79 in Orlando. Simeon Lepichev scored the game-winning bucket with 0.8 seconds left
Anthony Adger led the Owls with 19 points, Jailyn Ingram scored 12 and Karlis Silins had 11.
Graduate forward Xavian Stapleton had his first double-double as an Owl with 14 points and 10 rebounds
The win gave FAU its first 2-0 start since the 2010-11 season

Saturday's opponent will be either Pepperdine, whom FAU has never played before, or Towson who defeated the Owls 76-52 at last season's Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla.
