FAU Swimming and Diving to Compete in Patriot Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University swimming and diving team will be venturing northeast to Fairfax, Virginia, to take part in the annual Patriot Invitational for the team's third consecutive year. This three-day event will take place Thursday through Saturday at Jim McKay Natatorium and will feature preliminaries, diving and finals each day. FAU will be one of the nine teams in attendance.

At the Patriot Invitational last season, the women's team finished third with a score of 564, while the men came in sixth after tallying 396 points. Spence Atkins is hoping to repeat what she did last year after leaving the invite with four individual first-place finishes and breaking two meet records. On the board, Logan Downey is looking for another chance to sweep in the 1- and 3-meter events. Overall, the team is hoping to capitalize on a handful of top individual and relay finishes they have seen in the first half of the 2018-19 season.
