CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (2-12, 1-6 C-USA) fell to No. 19 Charlotte (11-3-1, 5-2 C-USA) on Wednesday night.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
- The match was held scoreless through most of the first half, but Charlotte was able to put two goals on the board in the 39th and 45th minutes. The 49ers added to their lead in the second half with a pair of goals in the 74th and 79th minutes.
GAME NOTES
- Goalkeeper Hagay Jalon was tested all night, registering 12 saves in the match which is a new career high for the junior. Early in the first half, Jalon made an impressive save on a penalty kick from the 49ers to keep things scoreless between the two teams.
- Alvaro Rodriguez, Alex Alexis, Alonso Coello Camarero, Gonzalo Pena Barasus and Jean Paul Rafols were all able to put shots on goal.
- With the win, Charlotte improved to 8-0 at home this season and has yet to give up a goal on their home turf this season as one of the best defensive teams in the country.
