JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (2-10, 1-4 C-USA) concluded non-conference play at Jacksonville (4-11) on Tuesday night with a 3-1 loss.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
- The Owls fell behind early when the Dolphins scored in 23rd minute of the match. That score would be the lone goal of the first half with Jacksonville taking a 1-0 lead into the break.
- FAU came out of the gates looking to score in the second half. Just 50 seconds into the frame, Gonzalo Pena Barrasus found the back of the net to even up the score.
- That tie lasted only six minutes with Jacksonville retaking the lead in the 52nd minute. The Dolphins added an insurance goal in the 75th minute.
GAME NOTES
- The Owls outshot Jacksonville, 20-19, in the match with 10 shots on goal.
- Gonzalo Pena Barrasus notched his third goal of the season and now leads FAU with seven points on the year. Pena also led the Owls with seven shots in the match with three on goal.
- Luis Aranzazu got his first start of the season and registered two saves. Hagay Jalon took over in the second half and also made two saves.
- Alvaro Rodriguez had the assist on the goal for his first assist of the season.
