BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (2-11, 1-5 C-USA) conceded to No. 3 Kentucky (14-1-1, 6-1-0) behind a late goal from the Wildcats in the last home game of the season.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
- The match was back-and-forth between the two teams for most of the 90 minutes, remaining scoreless through 31 minutes of play.
- At the 32 minute mark, Kentucky played a ball to a player in the box who was able to bend it out of the reach of keeper Hagay Jalon.
- The Wildcats kept the 1-0 lead until 71 minutes in. Alonso Coello Camarero sent a hard-kicked shot to the Kentucky keeper who was unable to maintain possession. The ball popped back out and Jean Paul Rafols got a foot on it to send it into the bottom left corner.
- The equalizer held until the 88th minute, when Conference USA-leading scorer JJ Williams put the ball in the back of the net for 14th time this season to clinch the win for the Wildcats.
