BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team will wrap up non-conference play at Jacksonville on Tuesday night. That match is set for 7 p.m. at Southern Oak Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
The Owls (2-9, 1-4 C-USA) took on FIU in Miami last Friday night in an overtime thriller. FAU took the lead early, but FIU evened the score in the second half on a penalty kick. The Owls were able to get another goal with less than seven minutes left. FIU once again responded with a goal less than two minutes later. The Panthers were able to score a golden goal in the second overtime to claim the victory.
CATCHING UP WITH THE OWLS
Redshirt-junior goalkeeper
Hagay Jalon has started every match in-goal for the Owls this season. His 53 total saves leads the league and his 4.82 saves per game average is second in C-USA. Haifa, Israel native has registered two clean sheets this season which is tied for fifth most in the league.
The Owls are led by three different players who have registered five points on the season.
Jean Paul Rafols and
Gonzalo Pena Barrasus have each scored two goals and recorded one assist. Alonso Coello Camarrero has three assists and one goal on the year.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Jacksonville (3-11) lost to Liberty in double overtime in its most recent match.
The Dolphins are led by Reed Davis with five goals this season. Selemani Baruani and Steven Saunders each have three goals on the year.
