BOCA RATON, Fla. - Winners of four of its last five, the Florida Atlantic University softball team will travel to Denton, Texas for a three-game set against the North Texas Mean Green. The series will go a long way towards determining seeding for the upcoming Conference USA tournament. The Owls (29-16, 9-6 C-USA) are currently in fourth place, meaning they would receive the final bye to the tournament semifinals. The Mean Green (22-21, 9-9) are in fifth place and can overtake FAU with a series sweep.
Last Week: The Owls swept a doubleheader over Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers on Wednesday night, then won both games of Friday's double dip against Middle Tennessee before losing the series finale on Saturday.
History: North Texas has won 15 of the 27 all-time meetings with the Owls. The two teams haven't met in the regular season since 2013. The last encounter came in the quarterfinals of the 2015 C-USA Tournament, a 5-0 FAU victory.
