FAU's regular-season finale is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 14 at the USF Collegiate Invitational.
"With 15 returners and 14 incoming freshmen on our 2016 women's cross country roster, we attempted to put a schedule together that will allow each runner to improve throughout the season and ultimately create competition for a position on our C-USA Championship Squad," Head Coach Alex Smolka said.
At the 2015 C-USA Cross Country Championship, the women finished in 10th place with 219 points. FAU finished ninth the previous season with 200 points. FAU's Bethany Hardcastle, a then freshman, represented the Owls last season at NCAA South Regionals where she set a personal best in the 6K with a time of 22:42.00.
"Our very young men's team (one junior, eight sophomores, and three freshmen), will have ample opportunity to race and compete in some quality meets before our C-USA Championship," said Smolka.
The men's team finished in 10th place at the 2015 C-USA Cross Country Championships with 291 points and a team average time of 28:07.4. The top three returning finishers from the C-USA Championship are sophomores this season - Connor Fitzgerald (52nd overall â€" 26:49.6), Johnathon Werble (68th â€" 28:07.4), and John Marting (71st -28:12.9).
