BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University's football team returned to the Tom Oxley Practice Fields, on FAU's Boca Raton campus, for the fifth practice of the 2016 Spring Season and wore pads for the first time this spring.

Offensive Coordinator Travis Trickett on Thursday's Practice
- "Coach (Charlie) Partridge has done a phenomenal job in getting this program to where we have kids who want to learn and who want to succeed," said Travis Trickett, FAU's newly hired offensive coordinator. "They don't necessarily know how to get there, just yet. We are really young but one thing I am excited about is their mentality. They want to be good. The pieces are in place for us to be successful we just have to build on it, push these guys and let them know the standard we will hold them to and they have to meet us there."
Putting Player in the Right Position
- "We have our eyes on a few guys. I don't want to put that expectation out there because again it is not over. A guy could have been doing well for the first five practices, but if he lays down for the next 10, it doesn't matter. Then there may be some guys who haven't done much because of one reason or another and then they step up here towards the end. Hopefully, if we have 14 scholarship receivers we have 14 who can play with us on Saturday. Hopefully, if we have three scholarship quarterbacks, we have three guys who can play with us on Saturday. That's the goal to get everybody that is on the roster in a position where they can help contribute on Saturday. But, the kids tell us who can and who can't. We are identifying who can and who can't and then, within that, the guys who are embracing the little things in their position to where they can go out and execute it at a high level. We are still figuring that out right now."

- In the final session of the day Jake Stoshak broke-up a pass to prevent a first down.
- Tight end Jacob Wilson caught a pass to move the chains
- Running back Marcus Clark used two carries to gain a first down.
- Reggie Brown grabbed an interception but the ball was called back due to defensive off-sides.
