BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University baseball reliever Cameron Ragsdale was honored on Monday with Third Team Preseason All-American status by Collegiate Baseball.
The 6-0 senior righthander is coming off of a superb 2016 season in which he led all of Conference USA with 15 saves, a mark that is also the second highest recorded by an FAU reliever in a single year. He posted a 1.61 ERA, giving up just five earned runs in 28 innings pitched, and held opposing hitters to a .182 average.
The native of McDonough, Georgia, is in second place and only 16 saves shy of FAU's all-time career mark despite last season being his first with the squad. He and the rest of the Owls will restart prep work for Opening Day soon, with the first game scheduled for Feb. 17 vs. Monmouth. Stay tuned for 2017 season ticket plans coming soon.
