HUNTINGTON, W. V. - (Jan. 7, 2016) - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team fell to Marshall 90-67 on Thursday night. The Owls stand at 2-13 overall and 0-2 in Conference USA play, while Marshall is now 6-9 and 2-0.
The Turning Point
Jeantal Cylla hit a three-pointer to cut what had been a 17-point Marshall lead to 10 with 4:41 to go in the first half. The Thundering Herd answered with a 10-2 run to push the margin back to 18, 42-24, and the advantage remained at least 14 for the rest of the night.
Notables
• Adonis Filer's 17 points led FAU. Cylla (13) and Solomon Poole (11) joined him in double-figures. Poole's 11 points came in just 17 minutes.
• Ronald Delph grabbed 11 rebounds and added nine points, just missing his first career double-double.
• Ryan Taylor (21 points, 11 rebounds) and James Kelly (18 points, 15 rebounds) both had double-doubles for the Herd.
• The Owls were outrebounded 49-34 on the evening, which translated into a 19-5 edge in second chance points.
