BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's basketball player
Josiah Parker has been named the American Conference's Preseason Freshman of the Year, announced by the league on Thursday. As a team, the Owls were ranked No. 6 in the American's preseason poll.
Parker concluded his high school career at Combine Academy International, where he was a McDonald's All-American. He arrives to Paradise as the highest ranked recruit in program history by 247Sports.com, where he was listed as a four-star prospect.
The Owls enter their second season under Head Coach
John Jakus and are coming off a campaign in which they achieved their seventh consecutive winning season. Florida Atlantic made it to the American Conference Tournament quarterfinals before being selected to the National Invitational Tournament, their fourth straight year with a postseason appearance.
The 2025-26 season is presented by Phil Smith Kia/Phil Smith Acura.
