BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic men's tennis (1-4) team traveled to Ft. Myers to take on Florida Gulf Coast (2-1) on Friday. The Owls pushed four of five singles matchups to three sets and the doubles point came down to 10-8 tiebreaker. FAU Freshman Kian Mclean also continued his impressive start winning his third consecutive match to start the season 3-0.

The doubles point was a back and fourth affair with FGCU winning the number two position to start the match. FAU junior Andrei Morin-Kougoucheff and FAU senior Will Neuner the evened the match defeating Jordi Vives and Tianyu Bao 6-4. FAU senior Richard Meade and FAU freshman Zandrix Acob fought Lucas Vaz and Ricky Ventura to a tiebreaker before dropping the match 7-6 (10-8).

The Owls fought hard in singles with four of the five matches going to three sets. FAU freshman Kian Mclean continues to be a bright spot for the Owls, winning his match in the number six position defeating Michael Beiler 5-6 (4-10), 6-4, 11-9. This is Mclean's third consecutive win on the season.

FAU is back in action against Georgia Southern, in Ft. Myers on Saturday, at 1 p.m.
