Aug. 6, 2014 BOCA RATON, Fla. - With the 2014 season rapidly approaching, the Florida Atlantic University football team held two practices on Wednesday. Both sides of the ball looked to be improving, with the defense shining in the first practice and the offense moving the ball well in the second.
Veterans Andrae Kirk and Christian Milstead led the way with pass breakups in each session, forcing the offense to go to the ground game.
Jay Warren broke out a long rush in the first practice, followed by a stellar catch by Marcus Cunningham in traffic at the end of the session.
In the second practice of the day, Martese Jackson showed some fancy footwork out of the backfield with a 20-yard rush.
The passing game found a groove with a couple of short passes that turned into big gains. Lucky Whitehead caught a 10-yard pass then broke for 20 more yards after contact. Freshman Henry Bussey made a quick grab out of the backfield and picked his way down the field, showing great agility.
