The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (1-6-2, C-USA 1-1-1) fell 2-0 to No. 16 New Mexico (8-2-1, C-USA 2-1) on Wednesday night.
The Owls played tight defense in the first half until the Lobos struck with a little over a minute remaining to bring them to 1-0. The shot from New Mexico's Kevin Correa just slipped by FAU goalkeeper Theo Jamilloux. New Mexico's second goal came off a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.
Sophomore Braxton Fuster had FAU's only shot on goal for the night, while the Owls tallied a total of five shots overall in the match. Jamilloux had six saves on the night to bring his season total to 44.
FAU will travel to Norfolk, Va. to face conference opponent Old Dominion on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
