Diarra, Cubeddu Earn All-Region Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The United Soccer Coaches Association announced its Division I All-Region teams on Tuesday. Florida Atlantic senior forward Mamadou Diarra was named to the First Team East Region. Senior defender Fabrizio Cubeddu was named to the East Region Third Team.

Diarra started all 18 games in his second season as an Owl. He led the team with nine goals and 25 points and finished second with seven assists. The native of Mali was named American Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Cubeddu also started every game and rarely came off the field. The Davie native led the Owls with 1,426 minutes. He started the season at right back, moved to the midfield late in the season, and finished the campaign starting at center back in the Owls' National Tournament matchup with UCF.

Diarra and Cubeddu are the first Owls to earn All-Region honors since Alonso Coello in 2021. Both players will be in contention for All-America honors, which will be announced on Friday, December 12.
