The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (1-7-2, C-USA 1-2-1) fell 2-1 to Old Dominion University (5-4-1, C-USA 1-1-1) on Saturday night despite a second half comeback run led by senior Ryan Price.
The Monarchs scored in the seventh minute to take an early 1-0 lead. FAU's Patrick Darby tried to answer in the 16th minute, but his shot was saved by ODU goalkeeper Alex Tiesenhausen. ODU scored its second and final goal in the 34th minute.
Price put FAU on the board in the 56th minute off of a penalty kick. The Owls' offense looked aggressive in the second half with six shot attempts combined from Deniz Bozkurt, Jason Fitzgerald, and Jason Garcia.
Goalkeeper Theo Jamilloux helped keep the Monarchs from scoring after the first half and had a total of two saves in the match.
The Owls will return to Boca Raton to face C-USA opponent South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 17 at 8:30 p.m.
