Boca Raton, FL - The recognition continues to pile up for the Florida Atlantic University baseball team. Baseball Americafeatured the Owls after the team began the 2012 season with a three-game sweep at the University of Alabama.

FAU opens the home portion of its schedule on Friday, February 24, at 6:30 p.m. against Manhattan College. The two teams will play a four-game series with a doubleheader scheduled on Saturday, February 25, at 1 p.m. FAU will close out the weekend on Sunday, February 26, at noon. Senior pitcher Ryan Garton earned Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week honors after scattering three hits and recording seven strikeouts in FAU's 5-2 win on February 17.
Fellow senior outfielder Alex Hudak was also honored by the league as the conference Player of the Week. The Mount Dora, Fla. native hit .500 (6-for-12) with two home runs and seven RBIs.
Senior infielder Mike Albaladejo made a smooth transition to second base after being behind the plate in his first three seasons. He led the Owls with three hits in all three games. Albaladejo also did not commit an error in his 15 chances.
