Family - Legacy

The Bartels name is something that means a lot to my family.

I think of my mother who has been a loyal employee at the same company my entire life and of my father, Jack, a man who earned his GED, owned his own business and who taught his four children that what you will get out of life is what you put into it.

Some think of Kris, as a guy who climbed the FAU football team ladder, first as a walk-on, then a member of special teams, a starter, a letter winner, a kick returner, a defensive MVP and a Bowl game winner. I think of a brother who paved my way, set the tone of the Bartels work ethic. Some may consider me a guy who walked-on, learned from his big brother, became a starter, an all-conference member and a Burlsworth nominee -- and will become FAU's all-time leading tackler among the defensive backs.
