BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team completed camp practice number 15 as the team continued to prepare of Saturday's FanFest, scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Owls took to the field in full pads under a hot Wednesday sky and one with high humidity, but nearly 30 minutes into the workout a cloud cover cooled the day providing a respite to the players.
The offensive day began with 30 minutes of individual work. The squad moved into inside drills and 2-on-2, followed by blitz and unit drills. The Owls then moved into 7-on-7 where David Kooi hit his targets. Marcus Cunningham worked hard for a reception and then made another look easy. Tony Moore was credited with one while Jerrard Hunter had two receptions in tight coverage.
Nick Bracewell got into the action when he connected with incoming freshman tight end Eamon Ryan. Graham Wilbert also found an open newcomer in freshman wide receiver Hakeeme Ishmar.
Defensively, the Owls faced no huddle substitutions drills testing their summer condition at the mid-point of camp. FAU also worked individually and on both the inside and blitz drills.
The Owls will return to the field 8 a.m., Thursday morning for the first of three scheduled practices. All practices are free and open to the public. For more season tickets which begin as low as $135 call 1-866-FAU-Owls or visit www.fausports.com.
