FAU Athletics to Host FanFest

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team will host its annual FanFest on Saturday, August 20 at 2 p.m.
The Owls will hold their last scheduled preseason scrimmage of the 2011 season and will be joined by the cheer and dance teams as well as Owlsley, the team's mascot. The football team also will sign autographs following the scrimmage.
Fanfest, which is free and open to the public, will be the last opportunity for local fans to watch the Owls play live until Saturday, October 15 when FAU opens its on-campus stadium versus Western Kentucky University.
The on-campus stadium is the centerpiece of FAU's Innovation Village, located in the north central area of campus. A $70-million project, it is slated to feature 6,000 premium seats, including 24 suites, 26 loge boxes, 1,000 premier club seats and 4,000 priority club seats, and the latest, state-of-the art amenities. Worthy of Note:
• Fanfest will also feature a rummage sale of "slightly" used FAU gear.
• Three FAU opponents this season are among the countries top-25: University of Florida, Michigan State University and Auburn University.
• The Family Pack provides four tickets for all five home games, beginning with the stadium's grand-opening game on October 15 against Western Kentucky University. Family Pack prices range depending on seating level in the stadium: $250 ($12.50 per person) for Lower Owl Nest seats and $199 ($9.95 per person) for Upper Owl Nest seats.
• The Mini Owl Plan is a special ticket package for fans to purchase any three home games of their choice. The top option is $90 ($30 per game) for seats in the Premier Sideline section of the stadium. The other option at $75 ($25 per game) allows fans the choice of watching games in others sections of the stadium.
