The 2011 season has ended and we came a little short of our goals. We finished 32-25 (17-13 and 4th in the Sun Belt Conference).
Some of the highlights from the season includes:
- Nick DelGuidice became the career all-time doubles leader (May, 7, 2011). He finished his three-year career with 58 doubles.
- We captured the three-game series versus the University of Miami, winning one in Boca and taking another in Coral Gables.
- The team finished the semester with a 2.8 GPA
- 2011 Graduates include: Eddie Cassidy, Taylor Everest, Jason Kitchen, Nick DelGuidice and Raymond Church. The remaining seniors willeither graduate in the summer or at the conclusion of the fall.
- Three players made first team all-Sun Belt (starting pitcher Paul Davis; relief pitcher Hugh Adams; and second baseman Raymond Church)
- Second team all-sun belt team member was outfielder Alex Hudak.
Sadly - one of our biggest fans, Herb Cohen, passed away. I am sure a number of you remember Herb and his love for not only FAU baseball, but the guys. He never missed a home game and would follow us diligently on the road. The funeral was a beautiful service and they spoke about Herb's love for the FAU baseball. One of his final wishes was to be buried in a FAU jersey. He looked great in the pinstripes and hat. Herb we miss you and love you, God Bless.
The coaching staff is out recruiting for the 2012 and 2013 seasons and the current players are playing summer baseball. I hope everyone has a great summer and will continue to keep you updated on FAU Baseball. I am also continuing to make the push for capital improvements. While we wait for the football stadium's completion, scheduled for October 15, we will try to get some things done around the baseball stadium. I'm looking forward to replace the banners on the outside of the stadium and to adding additional shade trees on the hills. We also need to replace the netting in front of the dugouts. The largest of the plans need your support. We need to complete the cage project, which would allow the players more time to work on individual skills. The projected cost is $300,000. Any assistance you can provide in this area would be greatly appreciated. Goal Photos

The season has ended but the goals never do. Take care.
