Track Finishes 6th at Sun Belt Indoors

JONESBORO, AR - Seniors Charlene Luxama and Friederike Feil combined for three event titles at the Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field Championships, helping the Florida Atlantic track team to a sixth place finish at the meet.
Feil won the women's mile and the women's 3,000 meters, giving her four indoor events titles for her career. Her time in the 3,000 meters was 9:34.11, setting a new meet record by a full second. Luxama's time of 2:13:00 was good enough to take the women's 800 meter title. It is the second year in a row that an FAU runner won the event, after Patricia Gumbs won last year's title. Luxama teamed with Danielle Aromashodu, Annakay Dennis and Dana Cannon to finish third in the 4x400 meter relay.
Rebecca Hallam scored well in the distance events, placing third in the 3,000 meters and second in the 5,000 meters, to score 14 points in the two events.
The Owls begin the outdoor season on March 12, when they host the FAU Invitational.
