BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team wore shorts and shirts, no-pads, for the final day of preparation, in Boca Raton, for their game versus the USF Bulls, scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Owls took to the field at the normal 3:30 p.m. time slot under a heavy cloud cover but the rain stayed away allowing the team to get in a full day of work. The bulk of the schedule was devoted to situations with the one's and two's on each unit facing the scout teams. Practice concluded with the two minute drill and PAT/Field Goals.
Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger concluded practice and headed to the Boca Raton Hooter's for the weekly FAU SportsPage radio show hosted Ken LaVicka, of ESPN760 AM, and Schnellenberger. Defensive Coordinator Kurt Van Valkenburgh was also scheduled to appear on the show.
Season and single-game tickets are available by calling 1-866-FAU-Owls or at www.fausports.com.
