Football Continues to Prepare for UNT

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team hit mid-week stride, Wednesday, in preparation for Saturday's Sun Belt Conference season opener versus the University of North Texas.
The Owls practiced for nearly two hours and continued to work on the game plan for UNT.
While the players were stealing looks at the adjacent soccer field their interest was tempered until the Owls men's soccer team scored what would be the game-winning goal just minutes into the second half. The offensive football unit cheered when the public address announcer confirmed the goal by Andre McCreath.
The brief celebration ended and it was back to work for senior quarterback Jeff Van Camp who hit Byron Hankerson for long yardage. On the defensive field, sophomore linebacker David Hinds leveled a scout-team receiver just as he caught a quick pass for a loss. A few plays later it was Tony Rodriguez who hauled in a tipped pass for an interception. Senior Ed Alexander recorded another turnover.
FAU will return to the practice field 3:30 p.m. Thursday. All practices are free and open to the public.
