Doggette Jr. on College Football ‘Freaks’ List

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Graduate CJ Doggette Jr., a defensive tackle on the Florida Atlantic football team, was ranked No. 42 on the 2026 College Football Freaks List.
The list, published annually by Bruce Feldman and The Athletic, ranks 101 collegiate football players with extraordinary physical traits and ability. The Owls have had at least one player recognized for six consecutive seasons.
Doggette Jr. was noted for his "impressive combination of strength and speed," with a maximum bench press of 500 pounds, 38 reps of 225 bench press, to go along with a 4.75 40-yard dash time.
This has translated onto the field to help make Doggette Jr. one of the top interior defensive linemen in the American Conference. After a 2025 campaign that saw him lead the team with four sacks and seven tackles for loss, he was named on the All-Conference third team.
In the past week, Doggette Jr. was recognized on the Bronko Nagurski and Outland Trophy preseason watch lists, with the former's award given to the best defensive player in the country and the latter for the top lineman.
Florida Atlantic football is continuing its fall camp in preparation for the 2026 season, beginning on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Florida on SEC Network.
