BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team returned to the practice field for a long day's work which included 98 offensive and 35 special team situational plays.
"It was a long day of practice, but a beautiful day made for football," said Howard Schnellenberger, FAU's head football coach. "The players held their focus and composure for about half the practice. We are working on that."
The day focused on situations and personnel movement on and off the field. Every quarterback saw action and all connected and move the ball. Graham Wilbert connected with Bryon Hankerson in the end zone. Jeff Van Camp hit Jeff Blanchard and DeAndre Richardson in one drive and again connected with Richardson in another drive. David Kooi found Willie Floyd and Floyd followed it up with a run. Xavier Stinson broke through the middle on several occasions. Nick Bracewell had a big day finding Marcus Cunningham, Jerrard Hunter and Chris Jackson.
Punt return work was all Tavious Polo who had the biggest return of the day.
FAU football will be back on the Tom Oxley Practice Field at noon Saturday. All practices are free and open to the public.
