BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team logged their third Wednesday practice of the 2010 spring season by working on situational drills.
The day began with 20 minutes of individual work, followed by 15 minutes of inside drills and then 7-on-7 drills and blitz work. The remainder of practice focused on team work but concentrated on situational play.
Senior to be quarterback Jeff Van Camp connected with fellow senior Willie Floyd in the red zone for a score and Floyd then followed it up, on the next play with a 10-yard gain. Van Camp also found tight ends Rob Housler and Darian Williams to move the chains in the red zone.
The Owls' practice schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:30 p.m. with Saturday's reserved as a scrimmage day. April 17 is the next scheduled spring scrimmage, scheduled for 11 a.m.. The spring game is scheduled for 2 p.m. 24th.
The 2010 Spring Game Saturday, April 24 on the Tom Oxley Athletic fields, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus will also feature the annual yard sale of athletic apparel. Following the scrimmage, Owl fans, players and coaches will head to the Marleen and Harold Forkas Alumni Center for the first "Pride and Spirit" event hosted by FAU's Student Alumni Association. A pre-game tailgate will be hosted by student government.
All practices are free and open to the public.
