BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football began preparation for this Saturday's match-up with the University of Louisiana, scheduled for 7 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium.
The Owls (3-5, 2-3 SBC) are riding a two-game win streak, both conference contests, and hold a 4-1 all-time advantage against the Rajin Cajuns (2-7, 2-3 SBC).
FAU began the day with punt and punt coverage work. The squad then moved into individual work and moved up its team drills to take advantage of the better light. The spirited practice was highlighted by senior linebacker Michael Lockley's interception. On the season, Six different Owls have recorded an interception equaling nine interceptions. As a team, the Owls also have broken up 26 passes all enabling the Owls to earn a spot at No. 14 nationally in pass defense and No. 18 nationally in defensive pass efficiency.
The Owls will return to the practice field 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. All practices are free and open to the public.
