BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team practiced through the rain to get in a full day's preparation in for their next opponent, Western Kentucky University 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
"We are depleted on the cab squad a bit, but the intensity is there," said Howard Schnellenberger," FAU's head coach about Wednesday's practice. "The players have the knowledge of what to do and we practice it every day."
FAU began the day with kick-off work and went through an abbreviated individual work schedule after Tuesday's extensive drill work. More preparation was put into both generating the run and stopping the Hilltoppers, who tallied 201 yards against the Owls in their last meeting, including 144 by Bobby Rainey, who currently leads the Sun Belt Conference averaging 117 yards per game.
Following the installation session, FAU ran seven-on-seven and rounded out the day with punt drills.
FAU will be back on the field 3:30 p.m., Thursday. Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger will join Ken LaVicka for the FAU SportsPage Radio Show originating from Hooters of Boca Raton from 6 - 7 p.m. Senior running back Willie Floyd will be a guest.
