There has been one mainstay in the 10 years of FAU defense and that is the "chain gang" mentality. We work to be one unit with our strength measured by the weakest link. We depend on one another, we struggle together, we work together. I came to FAU with a different perspective than most student athletes. I joined the workforce right out of high school and returned to college and football several years later. What I missed, besides the game, was working together for one cause -- the opportunity to work for one goal with no bickering. I like the acceptance of people from different cultures on our team. I like the idea that we work for one leader or coach. Positions are going to be hard fought in 2010. There are no guarantees. Every day we have to bring the best or someone else will be the strongest link. We learn from each other. We support each other.
