BOCA RATON, FL -
Florida Atlantic University's football team began its preparation for Shula Bowl IX and homecoming with its Tuesday practice.
The day began with special team work, specifically punt and punt coverage. The Owls then worked individual work for more than 20 minutes, followed by inside and seven-on-seven. FAU then moved into team work where the offensive ones and twos faced FIU's scout team and the defense did the same on the defensive field.
Xavier Stinson was praised more than once for his work while both Willie Floyd and Jeff Blanchard had nice runs. Redshirt Freshman DeAndre Richardson also made a nice catch despite coverage. The day ended with field goal and field goal block.
The Owls will return to the practice fields 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. All practices are free and open to the public.
Season and single-game tickets are available by calling 1-866-FAU-Owls begin_of_the_skype_highlighting1-866-FAU-Owlsend_of_the_skype_highlighting or at www.fausports.com.

Friday, Schnellenberger will host the Coach's Breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Tom Oxley Center Founders' Lounge. Check the University's website www.fau.edu for details.
