BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team took to the practice field Tuesday with enthusiasm coming off its 35-18 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday.
The team hopes the enthusiastic practices will play a role in Saturday's game versus at Troy University. The last time FAU traveled to Troy they came away with a share of the Sun Belt Title and the program's first invitation to a bowl game, the New Orleans Bowl.
Two seasons later FAU takes a 3-6 record into the game and needs a victory to keep their hopes alive for a third-consecutive bowl opportunity.
Tuesday's practice began with punt and punt coverage. Like each Tuesday, the offense and defense began installing the run and passing game plans. They then moved into team drills where Daniel Joseph broke up a pass, one he nearly intercepted. Jamari Grant later caught a pass from Jeff Van Camp for a score. The day ended with field goal work.
FAU will return to the practice field 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Tom Oxley Athletic Fields. All practices are free and open to the public.
