With the countdown to kickoff against Middle Tennessee State less than two weeks away, the Florida Atlantic University football team held another three-a-day practice on Monday.
The afternoon practice was exclusively team drills, as the Owls worked on first down and long yardage situations. The FAU offense continued to progress. Jeff VanCamp took advantage of extended practice time in team drills to hit Lester Jean in stride for a score. Also, Rusty Smith found William Rose on a couple of screen passes which turned into long gains. Special teams continues to be an emphasis, as head coach Howard Schnellenberger sent his field goal and field goal blocking unit out for extended work after team drills.
The Owls return to practice with a single session at 3:30 p.m. FAU will hold its third scrimmage of the pre-season on Wednesday, August 22nd at 4:30 p.m. at the FAU practice field. Season and individual tickets are on sale now as FAU kicks off its 2007 season against Sun-Belt co-champion Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, September 1st at 4 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium.
