The Florida Atlantic University football team put on the shoulder pads for day three of preseason workouts on a hot sunny day at FAU.
Group drills were much of the focus in today's workout, as conditioning continues to be a focus in the first few days. Once team drills began, a good chunk of the concentration offensively was on the running game, as tailback Charles Pierre got plenty of reps as did fullback DiIvory Edgecomb. The defense also looked very solid during seven-on-seven and team drills. For Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger, it's about making sure both sides of the ball benefit from the action. "We've got to practice at a pace that gives everybody the best opportunity to gain something out of the play," said Schnellenberger.
The Owls will practice again tomorrow beginning at 3:30pm outside the Oxley Center. Practice is open to the public. FAU kicks off its 2007 season against Sun-Belt co-champ Middle Tennessee State Saturday, September 1st at 4pm at Lockhart Stadium. Tickets can either be found on the website at www.fausports.com, or by calling the FAU ticket office at 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
