The FAU men's tennis team held their year-end banquet at Mr. Thai's restaurant in Boca Raton.
Coach Dave Komie awarded the MVP award to team captain Olivier Sajous. This accolade was Sajous' second FAU award this year as he was voted Outstanding Male Athlete for all sports just a month earlier. Sajous went 19-1 in dual matches and 28-4 overall playing in the no. 1 position. He broke the single-season record for wins, earned the program's highest rank at #63 earlier in the year and is currently ranked no. 110 in Division 1.
Lawrence Harradine won the Most Improved Player Award. Harradine, a freshman from Barcelona, Spain went 12-8 on the year in singles play. He and Sajous had an 8-4 record on the season as a doubles tandem. Seniors Mauricio Paiz and J.P. Bounassar were also honored at the ceremony.
Bounassar compiled 20 singles victories in his three years at FAU including a victory over Florida State during his junior campaign. Mauricio Paiz had a singles record of 40-34 in his four years at FAU, and was able to play alongside his brother, Cristian, as a freshman. Cristian, who is currently ranked no. 682 in the world was among the attendees at the banquet.
