Florida Atlantic University's Olivier Sajous enjoyed a number of accomplishments recently.
The freshman from Haiti by way of Plantation, FL was named FAU's Most Outstanding Male Student Athlete on April 16. That was soon followed by Sajous earning the no. 116 singles ranking by the ITA in its most recent poll. He ended the week by avenging his only dual match singles loss of the season by defeating Middle Tennessee's Andreas Siljestrom, who is currently ranked no. 78 by the ITA, 6-1, 6-7, 6-5 in the Owls' season finale on April 20.
As a freshman, Sajous holds a 28-4 record on the year as the no. 1 player on the men's tennis team. In dual match play he is 19-1 with his only loss at the hands of Siljestrom earlier in the year. He has defeated all but two of his opponents in straight sets. Sajous had wins over the no. 71, no. 63 and no. 78 ranked players in the country and held the highest ranking in FAU's program history at no. 63. Sajous is only the second player in FAU history to play in the ATP tournament in Delray.
