Joe Cadogan has signed a National Letter of Intent to play tennis at Florida Atlantic University. Head Men's Tennis Coach David Komie made the announcement on Friday.
"We're excited Joe has chosen FAU over all the great schools that recruited him," said Komie. "He's a tremendous talent and a proven winner. We expect Joe will help us continue our program's rapid ascent."
Cadogan, a Florida native, has been a top Florida player his entire junior career, attaining a no. 1 Florida rank and top-25 national ranking. He has held the state's High School Championship title since eighth grade and will enter this year's championship as the four-time defending champion. He also captured the Florida State Closed Sectional in 2005.
Cadogan is a top-50 recruit on Tennisrecruiting.net. He will help to solidify a program that began the rebuilding process one year ago when Komie's recruiting class ranked in the nation's top-20. The 2006 recruiting class included Olivier Sajous, who has since earned a national rank of no. 63, the highest of any FAU tennis player. Sajous currently holds the all-time single-season wins record with 26 victories with several matches left before this season's end.
