Boca Raton, FL - Florida Atlantic University football hit the field on Wednesday for the first time this spring. The energy and excitement levels were high, as the 2007 Owl squad got its first taste of practice.
The session took place without pads. In the early goings, the offense worked on various agility drills and passing routes. Defensive players worked on various techniques that included sled drills.
During the wide-receiver drills, both quarterback's Sean Clayton and Rusty Smith looked sharp. Clayton connected on a 15-yard strike to Cortez Gent. Smith was precise in a 20-yard throw to Chris Bonner.
In the team session, newcomer Lester Jean made a 30-yard reception which he took into the end zone. On the defensive side, Edward Bradwell broke through the line-of-scrimmage on more than one occasion.
FAU will return for a non pads workout this Friday at 3:30 pm.
