Musillo Named SBC Pitcher of the Week

BOCA RATON, FL - Senior pitcher Jen Musillo of the Florida Atlantic University softball team was voted Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Musillo was 2-1 on the weekend and gave up just two earned runs in two complete games against no. 3 Texas A&M and one against Michigan State. She struck out a career-high 15 in a 4-0 win over the Aggies, allowing just one hit the game after she blanked the Spartans, 3-0, allowing just two hits.

This is FAU's first player of the week award as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. The Tequesta, FL native was named SBC Preseason Pitcher of the Year prior to the start of the 2007 season.

Musillo (6-6, 1.38 ERA) and the Owls take on UMass and North Texas this week in the team's final home games until April 21.
