Swimming and Diving Earns Sun Belt Weekly Honors

In the last meet of the regular season, three members of the Florida Atlantic University swimming and diving team earned Sun Belt Conference weekly honors. Senior Christian Baker and divers Samantha Schlachterman and Nick McMahon each received recognition from the conference.
In his final meet at FAU Pool, Christian Baker (Tallahassee, FL) posted a season-best time in the 1000 freestyle by more than 15 seconds with a time of 9:40.91. He then returned to win the 200 breast with a time of 2:10.20 as the men defeated the University of Tampa.
McMahon (Cincinnati, OH) took third in the 1- and 3- meter diving events against national power University of Miami. He posted scores of 258.90 and 271.05, respectively.
On the women's side, Schlacterman (Cherry Hill, NJ) placed third on the 1-meter board (253.28) and fourth on the 3 meter (250.05).
The Owls are now preparing for the Sun Belt Conference Championships February 15-17 in Nashville, TN. The women's team will try to defend their championship title from 2006.
